Who is eligible for a 24-month payment arrangement?

| people found this helpful

Payment arrangements are designed to provide greater flexibility in managing your payments by making one payment or smaller monthly payments over a specified period. Eligible charges are divided into equal installments, which are billed separately from your ongoing monthly usage statements. Beginning January 18, 2024, SCE will offer a 24-month payment arrangement to eligible customers.

Eligibility Requirements:

You may qualify for a 24-month payment arrangement if your account meets the following requirements:

  1. The account is residential with at least one active contract.
  2. None of the active Service Accounts are active on a Net Energy Metering program.
  3. The account does not have an active payment arrangement.
  4. The account is not in pending disconnection status due to non-payment.
  5. The account has a past-due balance of 60 days or more.
  6. The account is not active on the Budget Billing.
  7. The account is not active on Arrearage Management Plan (AMP) or Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP)

Customers who enroll in this payment plan acknowledge that they will receive an email and/or text message from SCE whenever they fail to make their monthly payment on time. These communications are meant to help avoid further collection activity. (Message and data rates may apply.)  See SCE Electric Rule 3, Section F regarding the use of phone as a means of customer contact.  For more information, please see SCE’s online Privacy Notice.

How to Apply:

Call us at 1-800-950-2356 and select option 2 for Billing, Payments, and Extensions. Please be prepared to provide your Customer Account Number for our system to locate your account. After you hear your account balance information, select the menu option to request an extension.

Please Note: A payment arrangement does not include subsequent statements. Your new bill charges must be paid by the due dates indicated on each statement to keep the arrangement from defaulting. If your current bill or payment arrangement amount is not paid by 5 p.m. on the due date, the arrangement will default and may result in service disconnection and additional late fees.
