Located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, one of the world’s most productive agricultural regions, Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Energy Education Center – Tulare provides the latest information, tools, and resources to help Central California residents and businesses – including manufacturers, farmers, dairies and food processors – make better energy decisions.
We offer free courses and workshops led by experts on a wide range of energy topics, as we continue to work with state and national educational and manufacturing alliances to bring you the most up-to-date information in areas such as field production, food processing and preparation, and agricultural diversification. Our facility also features a number of displays on efficient and sustainable technologies, including an outdoor demonstration area showcasing energy-saving solutions for agricultural applications.
Through the Energy Education Center, we’re taking on tomorrow, today, to assist you in lowering your energy use and costs – and in becoming part of the clean energy movement.

Free Tool Lending Library
Need a tool for an upcoming project? Borrow one for up to two weeks for FREE through our Tool Lending Library Program. With over 400 tools available – ranging from digital meters and data loggers to temperature sensors and thermal cameras, to airflow hoods and more – you can test, troubleshoot or analyze equipment usage and have your project completed in no time.

An Up-Close Look at Sustainable, Energy-Saving Technologies
The 16,100 square-foot Energy Education Center – Tulare also includes state-of-the-art interactive displays and demonstrations to show you how to make better energy decisions and lower your carbon footprint.
A highlight includes our 4.5-acre outdoor demonstration area, with working pumps, irrigation technologies, and solutions to help the agricultural sector improve energy efficiency.
Also get a first-hand look at our other displays, such as:
A live, grid-connected photovoltaic system, which provides electricity to the facility and features a mechanism that tracks the sun to maximize solar power production; and
The inner workings of our highly efficient five-ton HVAC and split-system HVAC units.
In addition, the Energy Education Center includes several electric vehicle charging stations – an example of the infrastructure being installed by SCE to support the widespread transportation electrification needed for California to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045 to reduce the threat of climate change.
