Plan Overview
Our Tiered Rate Plan offers set amounts of energy at different pricing levels - or “tiers” - each month. Households begin each billing period at the Tier 1 rate until their allocation is used, then the rate goes up to Tier 2. A state-mandated High Usage Charge may also apply.

Rate Tiers in Each Billing Cycle

Energy Usage Tier chart: Tier 1 up to baseline allocation = 18 cents per kwh. Tier 2 101-400% over baseline allocation = 25 cents per kwh. High Usage over 400% baseline allocation = 35 cents per kwh.

Who May Benefit?
  • Households who can keep energy usage low throughout the month
  • Households who use more energy in late afternoons and early evenings

CPP is an optional rate. CPP provides four months of summer season bill credits in exchange for paying higher electricity prices during 12 annual CPP events. When called, CPP events are from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. on non-holiday weekdays, usually occurring on the hottest summer days. By reducing your electricity use during CPP events, you can minimize these higher prices. Plus, your business will earn credits on your electricity bills during the summer season – when your bills are typically the highest. Your new CPP rate comes with 12 months of Bill Protection, affording you time to see if it’s a good fit for your business – risk free. With Bill Protection, we guarantee if you pay more during your first year on CPP as compared to what you would have paid without CPP, we’ll credit you the difference. Use courtesy alerts to help you plan for an event. We will notify you the day before an event via phone, email, or text.

YOUR RATE PLAN IS CHANGING

Due to statewide changes, your current rate plan is being discontinued.
Starting March 2019 Your new rate plan will be:

Why are things changing?
As California continues to adopt cleaner resources to generate energy, the cost to deliver power throughout the day is changing.Energy is now less costly during midday and more costly in the late afternoon and evening. That’s why TOU peak periods are shifting to these times of day.
Is my 2019 rate plan the best choice?
Not necessarily. It's possible that your 2019 rate plan will cost more than other options available to you. Please review your plan options carefully.
What are my options?
Using the Rate Plan Comparison Tool, you can:
  • Consider how you can manage your electric usage during each period
  •  Take no action and move to your new rate plan
  •  Choose a differnet rate option before March 2019.

Note About Your Rate Analysis

It looks like you don’t have a full 12 months of energy usage however given you have at least 8 months with 2 summer months we have taken our best attempt to show you your recommended rates.

We’re confident in the results but wanted to inform you that any extreme changes can impact your results. Examples of extreme changes can be a new pool installation, solar panel installation, and/or new electric car purchase. If you do have any extreme changes now or in the near future you can disregard this note.
